6th Annual HAF Boston Marathon Events

Friends of The Heather Abbott Foundation:

As you’re likely aware, last week the BAA and the City of Boston announced that the 2020 Boston Marathon will be postponed until September 14, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Accordingly, we have adjusted our Boston Marathon event schedule as well.  HAF’s weekend events will take place on September 13th and 14th at the same venues and during the same timeframes as had been previously planned.  The Heather Abbott Foundation’s 6th Annual Boston Marathon Weekend Fundraiser will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at STRIP by Strega from 1:00pm-5:00pm. And HAF’s Boston Marathon Watch Party will take place on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Bar Boulud from 11:30am-4:30pm.
If you purchased tickets to either or both events and plan to attend in September, your ticket will be honored on the newly scheduled date.  If you purchased tickets and are unable to attend in September, you may request a refund by clicking the link at the bottom of your ticket confirmation email that says “View and manage your order online” or by emailing info@heatherabbottfoundation.org.  Early bird pricing has been extended through August 1st for those who would like to attend and did not yet purchase tickets.
While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to celebrate with you in April, we recognize that being good stewards of public health is deeply important to the broader community, and our amputee community.  As you can imagine, while HAF’s 2020 Boston Team Limb-it-less has expressed nothing but support and understanding related to the postponement of the marathon, they, and all who have trained, can’t help but feel disappointment.   Our 14 runners have worked so hard to fundraise and prepare their bodies during these last several months.  This team has done record breaking work and raised over $147,000, collectively, thus far. We ask you to please continue to support and encourage them throughout the summer as they continue to await crossing that coveted finish line.
Most importantly, we hope you stay safe as we work through this difficult time and urge you to heed the guidance from our leaders by limiting contact with others for now.  Thank you so very much for your continued support of the Heather Abbott Foundation, we hope to see you in September.
All the best,

Heather Abbott & the HAF Board of Directors
