Omar was the victim of a hit and run accident when another driver crashed into his car hitting his driver side door. The injuries Omar sustained in the accident resulted in the amputation of his left leg below the knee. Sadly, the driver who fled the scene was operating a stolen vehicle, and has never been found and held accountable.
Omar thought he may never be able to go in the ocean or go fishing with his son again when he discovered that the cost of a waterproof prosthesis was out of reach. HAF is thrilled to have partnered with Next Step to provide Omar with the waterproof prosthesis that allows him to enjoy these activities once again.
