At 33, Sara Mae was forced to amputate both legs below the knee due to complications with MRSA. This one time fitness model and healthy living advocate found herself unable to be active for months due to surgery and recovery complications. Today, with running feet from The Challenged Athletes Foundation, Sara Mae is training to compete in the 2020 Paralympics. And now, she’s ready to get back into her high heels. Sara Mae was given high heel feet that can be switched out on her “everyday” prostheses so that she has more options in footwear choices and can feel feminine and confident.
