Team Limb-It-Less

We’re excited to announce that Team Limb-It-Less is now accepting applications for bibs for the 2019 Boston Marathon, facilitated by our partner, Charity Teams.

2019 marks the 5th year that Team Limb-it-less will cross the finish line on Boylston Street, having raised funds to help amputees obtain prosthetic devices.  Being a member of Boston’s Team Limb-it-less is an incredible honor.  If accepted to the team, not only will you have the opportunity to cross the finish line of the world’s oldest and most prestigious marathon in its 123rd year, you’ll also be making a big impact in the lives of amputees.  The funds that you raise will allow us to provide grants for prosthetic devices that victims of traumatic circumstances would otherwise not be able to afford.  In addition to helping many others, 2018’s team helped raise funds to contribute to 51 year old Karen’s arm/hand prosthesis, having waited 5 years for one following her car accident in 2013.  The team also contributed to scholarship funds to send 8 year old leg amputee, Ryan, to Camp No Limits, as part of HAF’s newly formed Kids’ Camp Program.

A spot on our team is not to be taken lightly – there are requirements to which you’ll have to commit including responsibility for entrance fees, meeting a $7,500 fundraising minimum, rigorous training, among others.  You’ll become an ambassador for HAF and be charged with educating others on our mission and soliciting their support.

More details and application can be found here.

In exchange, aside from your Boston Marathon experience, you’ll be a part of a great team, managed by our partner, Susan Hurley of Charity Teams, where you’ll receive training tips, travel assistance, organized training runs (in the Boston area) and much more.  You will also be invited to a team dinner at the beginning of the training season as well as to our marathon weekend fundraiser and send off party.

If you’re a qualified runner and want to raise money for a great cause, please consider joining Team Limb-it-less!
You will:
– Raise a minimum of $1,500 to support amputees in need of prostheses
