The official logo for the Heather Abbott Foundation. The name is spelled out in purple letters with the tagline "Live Your Life" underneath. Above the name is a pink/purple circle with the acronym HAF

For over a decade, Team Limb-it-less has been a powerful presence at the Boston Marathon, with our dedicated runners helping to fund life-changing prosthetic devices for amputees. Joining Team Limb-it-less represents far more than earning a coveted bib number – it’s a chance to be part of something transformative. As a team member running the iconic 26.2-mile course, you’ll be directly contributing to our mission of restoring hope and mobility to individuals who have suffered limb loss. Every mile you run and every dollar you raise brings us closer to providing custom prostheses that can completely transform someone’s quality of life and independence.

Requirements

A spot on our team is not to be taken lightly – there are requirements to which you’ll have to commit including responsibility for entrance fees, meeting a fundraising minimum, rigorous training, among others.  You’ll become an ambassador for HAF and be charged with educating others on our mission and soliciting their support.

Whether you’re in need of a HAF charity bib or you’re a qualified runner and want to be part of a fun team and raise money for a great cause, please consider joining Team Limb-it-less!

You will:

  • *Raise a minimum of $2,500 (Qualified Runner), $10,000 (Charity Runner), or $12,000 (Repeat Charity Runner) to support amputees in need of prostheses
  • Be an ambassador for HAF and our mission
  • Be included in Team Limb-it-less celebrations
  • Receive assistance with travel/hotel/marathon day logistics
  • And feel great about helping your community!

We are so thrilled in your interest to run for HAF!  We look forward to reviewing your application!

*Qualified runners are those who are considered to have met the qualification standards for the 2026 Boston Marathon and are granted entry by the Boston Athletic Association (BAA). Charity runners are not race qualifiers and will receive entry to the 2026 Boston Marathon via the Heather Abbott Foundation’s invitational entries provided by the BAA. Repeat Charity runners are those Charity runners who represented HAF in the 2025 Boston Marathon seeking entry for 2 years in a row. Â
