Recently, HAF established the HAF Kids’ Camp Scholarship Fund, dedicated to providing scholarships to amputee children to attend Camp No Limits (CNL) established by the No Limits Foundation. CNL puts on a variety of long weekends at campgrounds across the country for children who live with limb loss and offers therapeutic programs with specialized professionals, including physical & occupational therapists, prosthetists & adult amputee role models. HAF’s first scholarship recipient, 9 year old Joey, attended camp during the weekend of July 13, 2018 at Quinnipiac University in CT and returned with rave reviews of his experience. We’re looking forward to growing our fund and allowing more kids this special opportunity.
This year, HAF will make a special announcement in connection with our annual Fall Kick Off Fundraiser in Boston at the Barking Crab Restaurant on September 29th related to our new scholarship program. We invite Boston area kids with limb loss to apply for 2019 scholarships in order to attend CNL weekends. It really is a fantastic opportunity for kids who experience limb loss to feel part of a group who understands their feelings, to learn from role models and to feel comfortable with their limb differences.
Applications should be completed below by August 31, 2018.
