In 2015, Nico was involved in a motorcycle accident and lost his right leg below the knee. For many years, Nico was wearing an ill-fitting socket, which made everyday tasks and activities very difficult. Most of all, Nico missed playing racquetball, his favorite sport.

HAF partnered with A Step Ahead and provided Nico with a new socket and an active sports foot to help him get back on the court.
